A non-profit organisation based north of Lanseria Airport on the outskirts of Johannesburg, Refilwe is a community based organisation that provides home based care, Tuberculosis management, hospice care, schooling and shelter for abandoned children. Established in 1991 by Jean Stewart, as a Christian outreach and people centred project, Refilwe assists orphaned, vulnerable and poverty stricken children and adults that come from the informal settlements in the area.
Metrofile’s support
Refilwe is fortunate enough to receive donations from many of the retailers situated in the north of Johannesburg, that support was however under threat as the organisation had no reliable means of collecting the donations. Metrofile has come to the rescue by making a delivery vehicle available once a week for the collection of the donations.
